Starting in the winter of 2008 French Creek Labradors and Brit Barker III owner of Generostee Creek Hunt Club and Kennels in Starr, South Carolina began a collaboration built on a mutual love of everything outdoors. From the sight of a stylish English Pointer holding tight on a covey of quail, to the big splash of a fine labrador making the first retrieve of the morning on a group of mallards.
Through this mutual effort, French Creek Labradors has the opportunity every December thru April to train and hunt our dogs at one of the most up and coming, high scale hunt clubs in the south.
Located on over 600 acres of some of the most beautiful southern habitat of rolling fields and pines, groomed for the development of both wild and pen raised quail. The five big waterfowl impoundments, professionally managed and flood controlled offer a waterfowl hunt that you would have trouble duplicating anywhere in the Mississippi flyway.
Britt and his passion at Generostee Creek are apparent from the minute you arrive at the attractive guest lodge were members and guest have their pick from 6 private bedrooms. This along with a huge dining area and new kitchen are a can't miss highlight at the end of a long hunt. Members can help themselves to a nice glass of sweet tea or something a little stronger at the fully stocked bar and enjoy cooking their own meals or have a truely world class event prepared by the clubs gourmet chef Joe. Enjoy the evening on the sprawling deck that overlooks the barn and pastures leading down to the duck ponds.
Just when you think you have seen it all be prepared to be dazzled at the start and end of every hunt, along with evening gatherings at the "Tractor Shed". Trust me when I say this is not your daddies backyard lawnmower shed! You will be amazed at the craftsmanship and attention to detail in this one of a kind members area. A sprawling great room with stone fireplaces at each end, burn to take the chill off after a long morning in the marsh. Breakfast and dinners are served at unique dining table of over 20' in length. Oak and pine tongue and groove are everywhere along with magnificent waterfowl and whitetail mounts from successful hunts. And of course telling the stories of the days hunt are enjoyed even more while smoking a fine cigar with drinks at the magnificent stone bar .
